The Industrial Standard Field Test Kit for Microbial Contamination in Jet and Diesel Fuel.
The Bug Test kit allows for accurate semi-quantitative analysis of fuels for bacteria and fungus in the field. It replaces standard plate count techniques used in the laboratory. A measured fuel sample is inserted into a sterilized serum bottle. After a set time period a color change is compared with the Bug Test Color chart. Filters and lines can become clogged; pumps and injectors, corroded as fungus attaches to seals, gaskets, hoses and coatings. Early detection is critical since bacterial organisms will double their population every twenty (20) minutes under ideal conditions (75-95°F). Early detection of microbial growth is absolutely critical for proper fuel quality control. Early detection can allow for scheduled fuel treatments, prevent costly downtime, avoid equipment repairs or replacements, prevent fuel waste and disposal. Undetected microbial growth can become severe rapidly and cause problems very quickly. |
