The SteadyRest is a unique 3-D printed device that attaches to the side of your Garmin or Dynon EFIS display using longer mounting screws to provide an improved axis of stability for your hand, especially while flying in turbulence. While most manufacturers provide a location somewhere around the bezel to help steady your fingers, SteadyRest provides support for your entire hand, and importantly, about 1” forward of the screen to give better precision, reach and dexterity.
The handle is mounted to the SteadyRest base with two nylon 8-32 screws (provided). It is not to be pulled with any force or damage may result, and it is clearly marked “NO PULL”. Optimized through dozens of prototypes manufactured and tested, SteadyRest is made in Ohio from ASA, acrylic styrene acrylonitrile, and a brushed stainless steel “handle”. ASA provides improved humidity, temperature and UV resistance versus other engineering resins - desirable in a light-plane cockpit. Looking closely, you can readily see the unique character of this fused deposition (FDM) 3-D printed part, where it is built up layer by layer on a heated plate. |
