Overview

Lone Star Aviation’s Magneto filter (FEED THRU) (Fail Safe Design) attenuates both low and high frequencies of noise generated from bendix magneto ignition systems. The firing of the aircraft spark plugs through the ignition systems harness can cause noise problems and interference to aircraft electronics such as audio panels, radio equipment, navigation equipment, instrumentation, and autopilot systems on board an aircraft. This filter has been used by avionics shops, OEM aircraft manufacturers, and FBO’s, to attenuate and suppress pulsating noise generated by their aircraft’s magneto systems. The magneto filter is FAA-PMA approved and is compatible with the bendix series S20, S21, S200, D3000, D4000 magneto.

Q: Is there a wiring diagram available for this filter?

We have added the wiring diagram to the "Documents" tab of the web page. Please review it there.

Q: Can this Magneto Filter be used with Slick Mags?

Per the supplier: The Magneto Filter is not designed for use with Slick Mags. Our Magneto Filters are only eligible on select Bendix mags (S20, S21, S200, D2000 and D3000). If your customer is picking up audible noise in his headsets, I might recommend using our Eliminator Filter (Part # 11-08055), in line on the power to the radio.

Q: Do I need one magneto filter for each mag?

Yes. You will need one filter per mag.

Q: Does this magneto filter come with a contact end and the needed terminals to transfer the attachment nut and spacers?

This unit has a pigtail with a connecting terminal, and a screw with a knurled nut, as pictured.

Q: Do I get 2 for each engine, one for each magneto or only one for one of the magnetos? I see with my twin there was only one per engine, not on both mags.

You would use one per magneto.

Q: Can i use this to my 10-349310-1: Bendix Magneto S6LN-1209.? Because i experiencing radio/interference noise when the engine is running and when i turn off the right magneto the interference noise is gone.

Yes, it could be used for that application.
