Overview

Phillips 66® Victory AW 20W-50 Oil is an ashless dispersant, multi-grade engine oil specially formulated for year-round use in aircraft piston engines. Victory AW 20W-50 is pre-blended with the proper concentration of antiscuff/antiwear additive (LW-16702) mandated by Lycoming Service Bulletins 446E and 471B and Service Instruction 1409C. It provides distinct performance benefits compared with single-grade engine oils, including easier starting and faster oil circulation at low temperatures, reduced warm-up time, and reduced oil consumption in most engines. It maintains its film strength under high loads and at high temperatures to protect against wear and piston scuffing.

The ashless dispersant formulation helps minimize the formation of engine sludge, varnish, piston deposits and combustion chamber deposits, resulting in a much cleaner engine compared with the use of straight (non-dispersant) mineral oils.

Victory AW 20W-50 Aviation Oil is recommended for use in opposed piston engines. It can replace Commercial Grade 65, 80 or 100 single-grade engine oils with no sacrifice in performance.

Q: What is the difference between X/C Victory 20W50 and the old XC 20W50?

The Victory 20W-50 is pre-blended with the proper concentration of antiscuff/antiwear additive (LW-16702). Normal 20W-50 does not have this additive.

Q: I had Normal X/C 20w50 put in at the last oil and filter change. Can X/C Victory AW 20w50 safely be added as make up oil when needed?

The Victory oil can be mixed with the standard X/C. It is basically the same oil but with the LW-16702 additive included.

Q: Is Victory 20W50 mineral or synthetic?

It is mineral but has ashless dispersant and anti-wear additives. It is not a mineral break in type oil.

Q: Is the Victory available in a 4 gallon case, like the regular X/C?

No, 20W50 Victory is not available in the 4 gallon case.

Q: Can victory 20/50 be used with camguard?

Yes but Victory already has an additive that is similar to Camguard.
