If you are working on an engine in the airplane you may find this tool very difficult to use or not useable. Space constraints limited us on IO-470S. Keep looking.
Real Gasket Vsc-2 Pushrod Tube Spring Compressor Tool
Works great. Could not install the springs without the tool. We tried the wire method with no luck, so bought this tool.
Real Gasket Vsc-2 Pushrod Tube Spring Compressor Tool
Worked great removing the pushrods from my IO-520
Just used this compressor tool while replacing all 12 pushrod tube seals and springs on a 72 Cessna 182P with a Continental O-470R. This tool is a must for compressing the pushrod tube springs prior to installing the pushrod tube into the engine case. I would have given the tool a higher rating if I didnt have to modify the handle to get it to work. I had to heat and bend the handle down to where it was nearly 90 degrees to the body to allow enough room for the tool to be used in between the engine case and intake manifold. All of the work was completed without removing the engine intake or exhaust manifold. Just be cautious when maneuvering around any of the cables/oil pressure line which pass along the side of the engine. I believe this tool was designed to be used with the engine removed from the aircraft and on an engine stand. With a little modification this tool works great!!
Real Gasket Vsc-2 Pushrod Tube Spring Compressor Tool
ok
Real Gasket Vsc-2 Pushrod Tube Spring Compressor Tool
tool works as advertised. Good quality. I know some say you can do the tube removal without such a tool, but this makes it easy. I fabricated a 16 extension so I could use it for removal as well as installation.
Real Gasket Vsc-2 Pushrod Tube Spring Compressor Tool
Works better than the continental tool that the shop had for years or any homemade tool that I have seen
Tool worked very good, made my job so much easier.
The handle could be about 6 inches longer.
