Truly fantastic lights. Replaced the old yellowed LED lights on my LSA with these and these are 5x brighter and look sharp as heck. Cant beat the price either. Highly recommended!

Exactly what I wanted. Low profile and brighter than old incandescent lights, so meeting visibility requirements is no issue. Whelen makes quality products. I relamped my old C195 with their 600 series and decided to stick with Whelen for my current project

Q: Do the Whelen Blaze LED lights strobe also?

Yes they do.

Q: Are the WAT Blaze LED lights approved for night flight?

No. These are not rated for night flight, daytime VFR only.

Q: Are these a direct replacement for the WHELEN 90340? Will they fit in the same space?

The 11-18403 (01-95001-03) is smaller in size and does not have the same output as the 90340. I would only recommend the Orion 600 series for this application.

Q: Are these Whelen Blaze LEDs only water resistant or are they waterPROOF, and if waterproof, is there a copy of the DO rating certification?

Per Whelen: this unit is waterproof, however, as it is an experimental product, no formal DO160 testing was performed.

Q: Will the Whelen Blaze work on 28v systems?

No, they are not designed for 28v systems.

Q: How are these different from the Whelen Microburst lights? Are the Blaze synchronizable?

The blaze and the Microburst would fit into the same experimental category. The main difference is the BLAZE is a smaller and more aerodynamic footprint. The Blaze series is synchronizable as well.

Q: What is the difference between the WHELEN BLAZEâ„¢ and WHELEN MICROBURST PLUS III KIT? I want to install it in a Christavia homebuilt Any recommendation? Thanks!

The only difference is the overall size of the Blaze is a bit smaller. All other aspects of the lights are the same.

Q: Why are these NOT rated for night flight?

The blaze lights were intended for daytime VFR use only as they do not meet the output and coverage requirements for night flight that are part of the ASTM specs. Whelen recommends the Orion 600 seris for night flight.

Q: What gauge wire is needed for the Blaze wingtip lights? Does the correct gauge need to be shielded?

20 or 22 ga wire.
