Cessna Strut Camera Mount with 7.50″ strap with Rubber Bund: 120 140 | 13-19604 |
The W3 Camera Mount by Cloudbase Engineering has been specifically designed to mount industry standard action cameras to the wingstrut on General Aviation aircraft. In addition to aircraft, The W3 Mount can also be reconfigured to attach to tubular structures between 1.13" and 2.80" in diameter. Switching between the wingstrut configuration to the tubular configuration takes seconds. The patented attachment method ensures that the mount will not mar or damage the wingstrut or tube it is attached to yet provides a very solid point of attachment. Also the attachment method used will work with varying leading edge diameter struts as well as varying diameter tubes and does not rely on matching any exact profile shape of the mounting surface. The W3 Camera Mount is machined from proprietary 6061 Aluminum extrusions specifically designed for this product. The camera mounts to a ¼-20 stud attached to the professional ball mount which gives freedom of movement to set up the shot needed; camera forward, rearward sideways it’s up to your imagination. Also the ball mount does away with the flimsy plastic mounting hardware and brackets commonly supplied with action cameras and also used on other mounts for a much more rigid and a vibration minimizing attachment between camera and mounting surface. Experimental aircraft utilizing Cessna wingstruts can also use this mount. The Tubular Configuration may be used on the following: hanglider, motorcycle front fork, motorcycle slide pegs, ATV frame, roll bar on any vehicle (gocart, racecar, atv). wakeboard tower, sailboat mast, ski lift chair, speedy rail for the film industry, mountain bike head tube & front fork, and windsurfer mast; If its round and fits within the specs it will likely work with the proper length strap. The W3 Camera Mount is supplied with a set of straps for the required aircraft as well as a longer strap that can be used for most tubular configurations. An additional set of rubber contact points is also supplied with an allen wrench and a few spare parts should any be lost during configuration changes. Action cameras with integrated ¼-20 attachment points such as the Drift, Sony Action Cam and JVC Adixxion can use the W3 mount as supplied. When using the W3 Mount with a GoPro, Garmin Virb or Contour the addition of a tripod mount accessory (11-14091 SEE "Accessories" tab) is required to give the camera the ¼-20 mounting feature, sold seperately. The W3 Mount is designed to carry camera payloads comparable between industry standard action camera models, but point and shoot cameras can be used but max payload needs to be 1lb or less. |
Works great but a little expensive for what it is.
Works great! Exactly as described.
Very solid camera mount. my only worry is the longevity of the velcro straps with exposure to UV etc over the long haul.
I searched high and low (pun intended) for a Cessna 172 strut mount. This mount is absolutely perfect both in functionality, versatility and durability. I have also mounted it on the main landing gear strut (above the step for safety) with a 360 Fly panoramic camera! Yes, it will fit simply loosen the Velcro straps for the larger dimension and youre all set! After purchasing one, I came back and purchased a second. One for the 360 Fly and the other for a GoPro 4 Silver.
Absolutely perfect! I came back and ordered a 2nd mount I mount a GoPro 4 Silver on the first and a 360 Fly panoramic camera on the other. Recently I mounted one on the main gear strut on a C-172 (above the step for safety) and it fits great. Simply loosen the Velcro to go around the larger strut size.
I had been looking for a wing-strut mount for some time and even attempted to make one of my own. This mount is great because it is very light and easy to use. Great customer support. I recommend it.
This mount fits perfectly on my C-172. Allowing me to capture great footage from different vantage points without being worried about loosing my GoPro. Excellent quality

Part number 13-14983 is 9" long. Measure the circumference of your strut to ensure compatibility.
Yes, but you will need to also order the tripod mount, part number 11-14091.
Yes, however you may need a tripod adapter if the camera does not already have one.
