Overview

Now with Safety Coat™ surface for added protection. The most durable sun shield on the market. Heat can permanently damage the interior and avionics in your aircraft. We guarantee twice your money back if these heat shields do not keep your interior cooler than any others.

The secret is a material with two surfaces of aluminum separated by trapped air. This combination reflects 97% of radiant heat, an insulation value of R-9 equivalent to two inches of fiberglass. Kennon shields fit snugly, and maintain their shape for a tight fit. They install in no time, and roll up for storage in compact, water-repellent bags. Weight is one pound. Available for most aircraft, specify year, make and model. For custom shields, specify exact size of windshield and windows. Fabric edging insures snug fit and durability.

Developed for the US Military and used on most aircraft deployed to the desert where temperatures often exceed 115F degrees.

General Aviation: Single engine pistons (ie Cessna 172, Piper PA-28, etc)
Business: Twin turboprops, corporate jets (ie Beech King Air, Cessna Citation, etc)

Reviews

I installed a set of these sun shields in my unhangared C182P. The African sun can be brutal on upholstery and these shields really work their magic. I have had the set for five year now and the front shield is only startign to show some signs of ageing now. Really worthwhile investment, not only from a protective perspective but also to keep nosy eyes out of the cockpit. Great security feauture as no passers by can see inside for expensive equipment left in the AC.

Will keep the sun out. Installation takes about 3 minutes. I’m giving it a 4 instead of five because the driver window shade is a little small and sometimes falls out. The passenger side, windshield, and rear windows work great.

Q: Regarding the Kennon Super Sun Shields: is the price listed for an entire set (all windows) or just the front windshield?

These are priced and sold in a set. All windows in the aircraft. They are made to order based on the aircraft make and model.

Q: How do the Kennon Super Sun Shields hold to the windows? The ones we have now use little suction cups, and they are worn out and won't hold onto the windows anymore, after four years.

These sun shields are custom fit to the windows depending on which aircraft you have. They are slightly bigger than the window so when you place them in there, they resist against the sides of the window and hold in place.

Q: What is the average lead time on these Kennon Super Sun Shields?

These usually ship from Kennon in 7-10 days.

Q: Could the material of the shields scratch the windows?

No it is designed to be safe to use on the windows.

Q: How bulky are they to stow when not in use?

It depends a little on the make and model of the aircraft. For the largest set, we ship them in a 36" x 9" x 9" box, so that should give you a little idea about the dimensions. Every set comes with a blue, nylon storage bag with a drawstring. The largest piece in the set also will have a strap sewn on so that the entire set can be rolled up, secured with the strap, and stored in the bag. We've made it as convenient as possible, but there is a lot of material there!

Q: what does speedslope means?

It was an optional windshield on Beechcraft. It is laid a little further back to make the plane a little more aerodynamic.
