Overview

BATD Approved Simulator

The Redbird TD and TD2 are table-mounted flight training devices that are designed with the ergonomics of flight in mind at a price that everyone can afford. Plus, they’re fully packaged and easy to set up and operate, making it the most realistic and effective trainer on the market. Traditional “desktop” flight training devices sit on top of a table or desk, causing the pilot to reach up for the yoke and to look unrealistically high for the gauges. The TD and TD2’s unique mounting system allows it to be hung under the table, placing the yoke, switches, gauges and visuals in the correct and most realistic position for the pilot.

The Redbird TD and TD2 are perfect for flight schools looking to enhance training with simulation, and for individual pilots looking to hone their skills and stay current from the comfort of their home or office.

The Redbird TD takes the advanced flight training tools found on our large simulators and puts it in a desktop device. Whether you are a flight school interested to enhance your training with simulation, or an individual pilot looking to hone your skills and stay current from the comfort of your home or office, the Redbird TD is the perfect solution.

With its impressive range of features and training tools, it’s no surprise that it has been FAA approved as a Basic Aviation Training . The Redbird TD represents a generic single engine piston aircraft. It is available in either glass or steam gauge configurations.

Ergonomically Correct Design

The Redbird TD2 is the first table-mounted flight training device, designed with the ergonomics of flight in mind. Traditional “desktop” flight training devices sit on top of a table or desk, causing the pilot to reach up for the yoke and to look unrealistically high for the gauges. The TD2’s unique mounting system allows it to be hung under the table, placing the yoke, switches, gauges and visuals in the correct and most realistic position for the pilot.

Features

The redesigned Redbird TD & TD2 give you the freedom to fly with interchangeable glass and steam gauges on one device. They represent generic, single engine piston training aircraft. With the TD2, you can fly with or without retractable gear, constant speed prop and or a high performance engine.

Reviews

Limited to 3 stars only because the analog panel option does not provide VNAV/LPV support. This is available only in the G1000 version. Stating this detail would assist a customers decision-making.

Q: Which Redbird simulators are approved for logging of currency time (with CFII present)?

All of the Redbird Simulators excluding the "JAY" can be used for the logging of currency time with a CFII present.

Q: What's the difference between the TD and TD2?

The TD2 (13-15904) allows you to fly with or without retractable gear, constant speed prop and or a high performance engine. The TD (13-15905) does not give these options.

Q: Is there a center stick option available to replace the yoke? Some of the pre-loaded aircraft don't use a yoke.

Per Redbird: No, the yoke is the only center stick option for the TD2.

Q: What AC configurations can the TD2 simulate? Is it High Wing only or can you load Piper low Wing? Can you switch from Conventional 6 Pack to Flat Screen cockpits?

TD2 can simulate only a high wing, single engine. It has the option to turn on / off a high performance engine, constant speed prop, and retractable gear. Using the different combinations of these three features, you can create different versions of Cessna types in the simulator. 6 pack and G1000 are available on the TD2, one is included in the base price the other is additional.

Q: Can rudder pedals be hooked up with it?

Yes, you can use Part# 13-15866.

Q: Can this go between the g1000 and steam gauges on the same simulator?

No, you cannot use them at the same time. You can only use one system at a time and you cannot swap in between the flight.
