The Strain-O-Matic was created to take the hassle and mess out of draining oil filters, while simultaneously straining the engine oil for contaminants.
The device hangs over the edge of a 5-gallon bucket.
An included, Premium Silicone Tube connects to the engine oil drain valve. A removable 2” stainless-steel strainer is in the base of the unit. When an engine is making metal, it is a little-known fact that the oil filter will only contain a small fraction of this metal. Most of the metal fragments lie dormant at the bottom of the oil pan. As oil is drained from the engine, any metal fragments are washed out as the oil is drained. This metal is removed by the strainer. Once the oil has finished draining from both the filter and the engine, the strainer is removed and inspected. Up to four Strain-O-Matics will fit on one 5-gallon bucket (not included).
