I am having trouble with intercom. I have to cycle on off switch up to 6 times to get unit to cycle on. Battery cover was difficult to open. Case is metal much more durable

Works as expected. Very pleased with it. My only criticism is when mounting under the panel, right side up the jacks are on the wrong side. Copilot is on the left side, pilot on right. So wires are crossed. Not a deal breaker at all though.

No, it is a portable intercom and is not designed to be mounted in/on the instrument panel.
No this will not as your computer does not have .25 and .206 jack input like an aircraft would. You can you Aircraft Spruce P/N 13-04178 but this is only for one headset.

If a music device is connected to the IISX per the manual on page 4 "radio, intercom, and music signals will be mixed" (volume control for music is controlled via the music device).
Per the manual, the Flightcom IISX 2 place portable intercom can only output mono regardless if the source is stereo or mono. If you have a stereo headset, you would also have to set it to mono when plugged in. In this setting though, you can hear music in both ears.
The Flightcom IISX 2-Place intercom will work with an Icom handheld provided that the appropriate ICOM adapter is interfaced with the intercom.
Using an extension cable such as PN: 11-06520 will work fine between the Flightcom IISX 2-place portable intercom and a your headset.

Yes, you will need part number 11-02562 to adapt the FTA-230 to the flightcom IISX intercom (11-08700). If you would like a PTT switch add part number 11-12100.
With use of cable 11-11565 you can connect your Go-Pro inline with your headset. This will record all audio to your Go-Pro device. You can use this configuration with any intercom or com unit.
