Available in three different lens colors, Aviation Red, Aviation White and Split Aviation Red/White. When used in conjunction with the model 50519 mounting adapter, it can replace rotating beacons with the 3-3/4 dia. mounting hole. Note: Not recommended for installation on helicopters or twin engine aircraft. |
Perfect fit on my 172 XP
Whelen 70509-03 Beacon 28V Red
Light bulb burned out after less than five hours of use
Whelen 70509-00 Beacon 14V Red
Arrived promptly from spruce - product looks and feels very plasticky for the price - hope it lasts - replacing an old grimes product - so have to make a backing plate to mount it to as none of the Whelen mounts work - time will tell if it lasts
Whelen 70509-00 Beacon 14V Red
Worked just as advertised, and was much brighter than my old one
At the end of the documents it says obtain Field Approval thus what is being done to optain field approval. Any document sample copies available. Thanks
Very nice replacement for originals. Easy install and very bright. Priced well.
Easy installation and good replacement for original.
Great replacement for older troublesome flashing units. If the light is on solid it is wired backwards. The plug comes from the factory backwards from some Cessna plugs.
Easy to install. Very Bright. I would have given this 5 stars but the I believe the item is over priced!
Lots of positives: light weight, easy to install, relatively low cost. I changed the stabilator fin cap because of smaller diameter. However I was surprised to have greater RFI than the HRCFA strobe I replaced. I did not expect this at all. I could barely hear the strobe in my radio (garmin 200), but now there is prominent noise. Perhaps it is not as electrically simple as it looks.

This light meets the performance standards associated with 100 effective candela for airplanes with a type certificate prior to 1971.
Per Whelen tech: Being that the 11-03235 is not a high current assembly I have not heard of any RFI interference. This is in essence a flasher module with a filament bulb.
