Great tubing. Its manufactured by Plymouth tube company. Always top notch quality. There are a lot of suppliers out there that use cheaper made tubing, mainly from China and the reliability is not very good. Service from Aircraft Spruce great also. Quick

This will be used as part of a high pressure air plumbing project on a 2.5 inch to the foot model.of a 1920s era 3 foot gauge railroad freight car I am building, for a working air brake installation. I still.need to.locate and purchase the correct thread pipe thread tap and did for this tube size though. I am very pleased with Aircraft Spruce response and service to.my orders!!!!

First shipment of this item was wrong size tube. Second shipment was misdelivered by carrier and a trace was started by Aircraft Spruce! I got impatient and ordered again, that shipment of the third piece arrived next day. Then I received a Return Shipping label for the original incorrect tube received. Sent that back and next day received the second piece of correct tube, so I now have both correct tubes I paid for plus the Catalog I also requested! I am very happy with Aircraft Spruce response and service!!!!

It arrived quickly, but the shipment had a separate problem that took two weeks to sort out. I have already converted the One foot long piece into the spacer bushings I needed with the help of a friends machine tools. I am well.pleased with the response by Aircraft Spruce in resolving the shipping problem.

Q: Is your 4130 tubing annealed or normalized?

All of our 4130 steel tubing is condition N, normalized.

Q: Is this tubing true seamless or DOM?

Yes, per the tech data sheet it is seamless. The manufacturing process is Drawn Over Mandrel (DOM). Essentially the answer is that it is both.

Q: Is your 4130 tubing "Made in the USA"?

Yes, this material is manufactured in the USA.

Q: What lengths of 4130 alloy steel round seamless tubing are most economical to ship? Is there a crating charge?

It's best to keep the lengths under 4', but we can ship up to 8' via standard ground transportation within the USA. Essentially, the longer (and heavier) the package, the higher the shipping cost.

Q: What AMS Spec does your 4130 Tubing conform to?

ASTM/A S1906

Q: Can this 4130 steel type be bent and flare using normal flaring tools?

It can be bent but I could not find any documents referring to how well this material can be flared.

Q: What is the tolerance on the diameters of the 4130 ALLOY STEEL ROUND SEAMLESS TUBES?

The tolerance is +/- 10%.

Q: Is this 4130 the same as those used on off road applications(cages)?

Yes, we have many customers in the off-road segment that use this material.

Q: Could the tubing be rolled for shipping - require 12Ft

No, 4130 cannot be coiled.

Q: What welding rod/wire is used for 4130?

ER70S-2 or ER80S-D2.
