Works as intended. Strong and durable.
These are well made. A good value for the price. When mounting, make sure you get it to go solidly over center. The latch strike needs to be low, ideally lower than the draw point on the latch. Installed some of these and the smaller Dzus cowl latch Model II. This one is beefier, and has a larger set of cross-pin holes. I can safety it down with a four-inch cable tie. Those smaller ones have a set of cross-pin holes but youll need safety wire to do the job, which slows things down if youre into and out of the latched door frequently.
Works very well, however, you must use a Phillips flat head machine screw that is smaller in diameter than the provided holes or else the swinging latch will jam and not close. I found that 6-32 1/4 machine screw and stop nuts worked best on a thin aluminum cowl
