At first, I thought the door frame was sealed but after reading these reviews, I looked harder and noticed tape covering the top front corner of the door frame. Removing the tape revealed two holes, one at the top and another lower. The original spring was in the top hole, but this spring was too stiff to pull down when hooked in the top hole so I hooked it in the lower hole using safety wire as others have recommended. I inserted the spring into the top hole and with the help of safety wire pulled it out the lower hole and hooked it in the lower hole. I could then pull on the bottom hook with the attached safety wire and hook it over the window support brace which I had unscrewed from the window frame. I replaced the tape over the top front corner of the door frame.
The spring was the right part and seems stronger than the old one. Installing it is not simple, I followed suggestions from a forum and used safety wire to get it into place.

This worked as expected Seems stronger than the old one. The advice on safety wire on both ends work I fed the wire from top down, pulled the spring up, it will pull through the round hole, hooked it there. Pulled the other end down and hooked it on the window arm Eugene
