286-04 Carburetor Quick Kit
Aircraft Spruce always does a great job of shipping fast and getting it correct., even in these Covid 19 challenged times. The carburetor on our O320-E2D engine developed a slight bowl leak which apparently resulted in a too rich, rough running, failure to idle engine after 20 years and 1700 hours in service. Installation of this kit has cured the issues. Only reason for 4 stars is it’s a lot of money for a bunch of small parts that literally fit in the palm of one hand.
I have a MA-4SPA 10-3878-12 carb and had to search the internet to find out which Quick Kit matched my carb. The Kelly Aerospace site gave a Quick Kit number that I found on this site. It would have been nice to have a parts list and picture with the kit so I could tell if I got all of the parts. The list and picture would be useful to order individual parts that got damaged during assembly like the pump stem packing in my case. Note that for this carb the pump and pump stem packing numbers were not up to date on the Kelly Aerospace site. Ill also mention that all of my carb problems turned out to be due to running the engine on the ground without a carb box or air cleaner in front of it, the engine ran well with the air cleaner installed and extremely rich without it.
