Lord Engine Mount Application Guide (PDF)

These compression type couplings consist of bonded rubber joints pressed into the sockets of metal hubs. These dynafocal engine suspensions provide proper flexible support to isolate engine vibrations and reduce noise transmission to airframe structure in all aircraft applications. Careful design assures maximum strength to hold the engine under ultimate load and emergency conditions. Suspensions also distribute loads in most desirable patterns, control engine motions, accommodate thermal expansion and manufacturers’ tolerances.

Lord Engine Mount # J-9613-53

Engine mounts arrived quickly and well packaged.

These Lord mounts were one of the more difficult items to locate and Aircraft Spruce had them in stock! Not the fault of Aircraft Spruce, but they had some residue moisture pitting on the large washers, a result of being sent to them with production tailings from the rubber or other product being not cleaned off. And these mounts are incredibly expensive! Once I cleaned and prepped for installation I think I stayed the depredations of the washers. Only other complaint is the cost that Aircraft Spruce charges for shipping! That is a concern that helps me to consider careful review of who/how I order as do many of my associates. When you can save 10%-15% of your order just on shipping and tax it’s a no brainer.

Q: What is the shelf life of these Lord engine mounts counting from cure date?

Per the supplier: shelf life on the Lord engine mounts is 20 years.

Q: Does these Lord mounts come in kits? How many comes in each kit?

No, these are priced and sold individually. There will be 2 pieces in the box as a sandwich kit, but if you required 4 for your engine, you would need to order quantity 4.

Q: I am looking at the Lord J-9613-40/-53 engine mounts and I have a few questions. First, are they sold in pairs as shown or is the price for each individual mount? Second, do the mounts include the internal damper? And lastly, what is the difference between the J-9613-40 and the J-9613-53? Thank you for your time, David

1) Yes, it comes with both pieces as shown in the photo, but it is only one mount. 2) Yes. 3)The difference between the -40 and the -53 are the Spacers only.

Q: Is there a way to reference the bolts that would go with these Lord mounts?

Engine mount bolts are not always the same length for every aircraft application. The size is in an aircraft parts manual, or the mechanic will need to take measurements on the aircraft to determine the correct bolts.

Q: Do these Lord mounts come with installation instructions such as orientation and torque setting? I have read that these have to be positioned correctly or can be installed upside down?

They do not. That info should be in your aircraft maintenance manual.

Q: Do the lord mounts come with the needed hardware? Nuts, bolts and washers?

No they do not. These must be purchased separately.

Q: Which mounts do I need for a Commander 112. The application chart calls for two. I guess my question is. Do I need two J9613-40 and two J9613-53?

This aircraft would use a total of (2) J-9613-40 and (2) J-9613-53.
