Easy to install and seems to heat up very fast. Early to tell about longevity but so far I’m pleased with this unit.

Bought two for my Baron. Even though it’s in a heated hangar I use the pads for preheating the oil during winter ops. Makes run ups much shorter in Northern Illinois.

I received this heater unit promptly with good instructions and easy to follow. Easy to install. I have not plugged the unit in as of yet, except to test due to not really any cold weather here yet. Worked well when tested.

Great little heater, very light, easy to install and puts out a tonne of heat for its size. It heats up the whole engine in half the time that it says.

I installed model 441 on my 172M and it works as advertised. Outside air temp was 10F. I had an engine blanket on and plugged it in overnight. The temp according to the digital sender in my engine monitor said the oil temp was 66F, well within a safe temp for starting. The cylinders also felt warm to the touch and after starting, the engine was quickly up to operating temp. Great product.

Thoroughly impressed. As others have stated this pad will heat the entire engine, cylinders included. Sub-freezing temps in the hangar and my oil temp was 80 with a blanket over the cowl, 65 without blanket. Highly reccomend.

The heater was easy to install and came with high temperature sealant for the edges and a plenty long cord with a light up plug. It worked immediately and I’m happy with the results.

This heater works absolutely awesome. I live here in Alaska, and a three hour preheat with this oil pan heater and a heavy engine blanket even has the cylinders warm to the touch on an 0-320 Lycoming

Great price and great product! Heater does not need any paperwork for the FAA which is a plus. EZ-Heat answered my questions about what model for the engine in my Piper.

Easy to install. Works great. Would recommend the U-Phone-iT cell uplink which allows you to just send a text to turn it off and on versus driving to the hangar to plug it in before every flight.

Installed this on my Cessna 150L and I’m happy with it. Install was straight forward and with it turned on for just 1 1/2 hours with the outside air temp around 32 the Cessna started right up.

Over the weekend I installed this E-Z HEAT ENGINE HEATER 440 110V on the bottom of my oil sump. This morning I went to hangar to see how well it worked. When I opened hangar door the thermometer read 33.8 degrees. On prior days this would have ensured a very iffy engine start. I know 33.8 is moderate temperatures for you guys that live in really cold climates but out here in sunny, Phoenix AZ that is freaking cold and my plane does not like to start when it is cold. Anyway, the unit indicated it was on and working as it should be. I rolled the airplane out of the hangar. I turned the prop by hand 6 times just to get oil in to the system. I jumped in and went through a normal engine start check list. I am very happy to report the engine started easily within three or 4 seconds with no special handling of throttle or mixture. She just started like it was a mild spring morning. I believe my problem of cold morning starting in my home hangar world is solved.

Works great. After pre-heating all night in 20° F weather, I found 60° F on the pan, 50° F on the oil itself (laser thermometer) and 45° F all the way up on the top of the cylinders!
Install was messy, but straightforward. Follow instructions carefully. Make sure sump is clean, clean, clean. Used a floor jack and gentle pressure with rags to provide the 10 minutes of pressure needed after you initially apply the adhesive.
Competitors have smaller 2-prong plugs. This one has a huge illuminated 3-prong plug. The illumination is nice, but the cord is huge and way too long. For aircraft applications, it only needs to be a few inches to wrap it around an engine mount. You have to run an extension cord anyhow.
PS: Whatever size is listed for the O300A was a PERFECT fit, right down to the notch for the drain.

Great product, we have them on all 7 of our planes. Just plug them in and in 2-3 hours the whole engine is nice and warm, even when its -30 outside! We have tried other types and none have worked as good as the E-Z heat models, they also have the best price!

When I received this and my AME installed it, it didnt work - wouldnt heat up at all. Aircraft Spruce was amazing about getting me a replacement unit before they even got the malfunctioning one back. They were great to deal with, and very helpful. And the replacement unit is working great, so I just got unlucky and got a lemon the first time.

Great looking simple unit. Installed on IO 550 mounted in a 1967 U-206B. Instructed to use the supplied plastic putty knife to squeeze air and excess silicone out from under heater pad. Problem is plastic putty knife does not slide across rubber like unit. Afraid to use a lubricant. Worked air and excess silicone out with fingers. Have not plugged in yet. Testing today.

I ordered the model 440 which was specified for my TCM TSIO-360-SB2 engine (M20K). However, the fit isnt very good. That model is called a 4x4 square. But where the cord enters the heating element, there is about a 1x1x1/3 fatter section that must house the brains of the device (Ill call it the control box). The fatter control box section is on one side along the adjacent side of the square--essentially making the device 5 long on one side, 4 long on the opposite, and 4 wide with one side L shaped--offset such that it seems the control box should go around the drain plug (the L), allowing the heating pad to be mounted as close to the bottom of the sump as possible. But putting the control box to the side of the drain plug puts the side of the heating element over the side of the oil pan, which has semicircular cutouts long the sides allowing for the application of a long socket wrench when undoing the oil pan. There was really only one place to put it--the entire thing behind the drain plug, with the control box towards the plug. This wasnt great though as the oil pan is sloping up there, the rear edge of the heating pad is completely against the rear edge of the oil pan (towards the accessory gearbox), and--most importantly--the control box is near (behind) the drain plug. The curvature of the pan in that location led to the control box not sticking along one edge, despite my preheating all surfaces per the directions and applying pressure longer than the specified 15 minutes. I hope that this wont result in the whole pad peeling off or otherwise coming unstuck over time.
It seems this model should really be just a bit narrower with a centered control box on the short side. Perhaps a 3.25x4 pad, with the 1 square control box centered, meant to be mounted away from the drain plug.
I do think this is a relatively efficient and elegant way to heat the oil, and it seems to work well (it does take some time when the air/oil is really cold). I hope mine stays put.

I bought the 441 recommended for an O-320B, which is mounted on our RV6a. But I cant make it fit and remove the paint without removing all the carb controls and bracket. Very awkward installation, and thus I may not mount it at all. I would have preferred a smaller rectangle that fits into the open space on the pan even if the heating rate was reduced. Also, the cord on the 441 projects forward on the O-320, and I dont see an easy way to tie it clear of the exhaust pipes. I have one of these on the remote oil tank on my Fairchild 24W, which works great, thus Im disappointed.

The product I am sure is a good product however it will not fit my application. I had to order another part to accommodate. It was disappointing not having more information to know whether it would fit. The measurements provided do not include the thermostat thus you need additional surface area to make the contact.

After spending just under $300 to get this thing installed by a licensed A and P, about two minutes after plugging it in the first time, it started smoking badly. Had to remove it and confirmed that when you plug it in, it will attempt to burn down your hangar. Ordered a REIF which has been a success.
