Replaces voltage regulators on twin Cessnas, Beechcraft, and Vulcanair. ( Refer to Model Eligibility for your more information and additional models)
The Plane Power R1224B Voltage Regulator is a solid-state voltage regulator with over-voltage protection, field short (over current) protection, and reverse battery protection. The Plane Power R1224B Voltage Regulator also supports precision load sharing for twin applications, and an alternator inoperative lamp. The R1224B voltage regulator is designed to be setup in the field for 14 or 28 volt operation by configuring the two jumpers within the voltage regulator. Attention: Some applications require accessory part number 07-03532. See Application Guide for requirements. |
Installed on a Seneca II after having lots of issues with the old Lamar regulators. The R1124Bs fit in exactly the same spot, easy to install, very clear instructions and Hartzell is available if you need help. The load meters have never been this steady, you can tell which alternator is designated as the primary, my IA said these were the only way to go. They take up less room, seem to be much more efficient.
Like the product and love the fast and dependable service. I do need a favor though, I dropped/lost one of the screws where the wires get attached. I wonder if I could get another one. Regards, Donnie
So far, so good.....
This regulator appears to work fine. There is not a wiring diagram nor is there enough technical information (like turning pot counterclockwise to increase voltage) The B&C I had went to the shop 2 times in 5 years tripping the alt. Field. Hope this one lasts.
I would have given it 5 stars if Hartzell had put a screw hole in the component cover for adjusting the voltage. Additionally, it would be nice to have larger screw terminals to attach circular terminals. Although, Im very please to report that after replacing the Lamars with these voltage regulators the alternators are no longer arbitrarily falling offline for no rime or reason(probably dead spots on the Lamar carbon potentiometers). Very stable regs! I recommend these VRs to this point. Im hoping they last more than 3 years that some reviewers have claimed. 4.5 Stars

Approx 0.34 lbs.
The eligibility is based on the aircraft and OEM part number of the regulator. You would need to look up your aircraft on the pdf on our website.
