I had a question from one of your customers about the connector. We supply the MS3116E8-4S mating connector - this is a solder connector. This is the same Mil- Spec connector we have used for over 40 years in the mechanical Gyros. This customer wanted a crimp pin connector and didnt want to solder. It is unfortunate but we do not supply one for this instrument at this time. If someone knows a compatible crimp type - please let us know at www.kellymfg.com and we can look into it. We appreciate the support from Aircraft Spruce.
Had the MINI6 installed in our 1958 C-172 replacing the attitude indicator and leaving the other five instruments in place (for back up purposes). I was a little skeptical before installing (due to the small size), however after using the Mini6 for 10 flight hours. All my fears vanished. I find it absolutely amazing that one eight ounce instrument is able to replace six instruments and do a better job overall! Since it is working so well for our IFR purposes, we are contemplating removing our old altimeter to make room for a GPS cdi (Garmin 175) (keeping the other 4 instruments for backup purposes). A great way to bring an old airplane into the 21st century, reduce weight and obsolescence instruments. An added plus is that an external magnometer is NOT needed!
