Mount your GoPro or Garmin Virb X/XE to any sized wing strut from a J-3 cub to a Cessna Caravan. The all metal mount with aluminum red GoPro adapter holds your camera securely to any aircraft wing strut, float strut, or biplane N-strut. The FAA friendly mount can be attached securely with a metal cushioned strap, an adjustable rubber strap, or simply with numerous wraps of vinyl tape. Recommended to use the GoPro safe metal case to eliminate the common problem of falling GoPros due to the plastic GoPro cases breaking. |
I purchased this mount and SS strap for a GoPro Session in a dive case. All hardware was included and the instructions were clear. The dive case fit the aluminum receiver perfectly. The mount was easy to fit to the Cessna 172 strut and it is Rock Solid in flight. I did use thread lock on all the screws and bolts except the main stud and jack screw. I recommend this mount without any reservations. PS One thing I hadnt considered until aligning the camera is that this two-axis orthogonal mount doesnt permit rotation of the camera about the central axis of the lens. Having a rotating mount makes easy orientation with respect to the angle at which the scene will cross the viewing screen. This required some re-thinking of exactly how to position the mount on the strut and where to point the camera. I got it wrong by 90 degrees the first flight, which wasnt apparent until viewing.
