This is Aveo's ultimate small drone strobe light, PicoMax, a cousin of its highly successful MicroMaxTM defense industry strobe for UAVs. Battery operated with DC adapter recharging, the PicoMax will strobe for longer than your drone flies on its charge. Exceeding the 2 nautical mile standard, the PicoMax actually surpasses 3 nm, and due to its proprietary Aveo firmware and circuitry it offers the brightest and fully airworthy tested features for the serious drone operator. PicoMax comes in either red or white strobe color. |
The Aveo Picomax Drone Beacon is amazingly bright. I installed the light on our sUAS to meet the 107 requirement for the Daytime Operation Waiver. It gives the sUAS a massive footprint for manned aircraft to be able to identify it at night. Very light in weight and small enough to install on most sUAS applications. Nice work!
As advertised, this strobe will provide an over 3 mile visibility range at night and fits atop my Yuneec H520 with minimum weight.
We at Drone U tested this out to 3SM, and it works great. This is the best anti collision beacon the market in my opinion.
Aircraft Spruce has super fast shipping and very nice web interface. On the Aveo Picomax. Over all a great little light for my P4P. Pros. Well built and super bright. Very light should not even be noticeable to drone flight. Cons. Could use some improved operating and instruction information. Green light on = Charging? Would it be so difficult to include some mounting hardware. Recommended round hook and loop material (Velcro pad)? Obviously double sided tape is not a good idea because charging it would require sitting the drone out also. And it not needed unless its dark.
Battery life is less than 45 minutes of constant use. Very poor.

Per Aveo: We do not measure the lights in Lumens. This recognition light can be seen beyond 3 nautical miles. The requirement is two nautical miles.
