Slidedown 7/16 Rope Blue/White 33709

$137.75/Set
Part# 13-14806
MFR Model# 33709

Overview

There is a fast and easy way to secure your aircraft. Developed by a pilot for pilots, the SlideDown is an exceptional new product for securing your aircraft to the ground anchors. No more complicated knots, just attach one end to the ground anchor and the other to your aircraft, pull down on the slide and your done! It’s that simple.

SlideDowns are sold as a set of three, one for each wing and a tail along with a nylon carry bag to stow your set. The 7/16” kernmantle braided rope is a balanced construction consisting of a continuous filament polyester cover braided over a unidirectional nylon core and is used primarily in the safety and rescue industry. The precision drilled powder coated slide, made from 6061aircraft grade aluminum, allows for easy sliding and a tight hold. The vinyl coated hooks prevent any scratching to the aircraft contact points.

Made as a “one size fits most aircraft”, the SlideDown is easily adjustable to reach most anchor points. Maximum reach on the wings are approximately 100 inches and the maximum reach on the tail is approximately 54 inches. The SlideDown can be shortened to accommodate just about any length.

The SlideDown is proudly Made in the USA and available in a variety of colors.

Tying down my airplane is so easy and fast with the new Slidedown Aircraft Tie Downs!

I became familiar with this type of tie down on another airplane that I fly regularly. When the old tie down straps on the Cessna 150 that I fly finally rotted out, I bought these. The design is so simple and easy to use that it made me wonder why no one else thought of it before. I cant recommend these highly enough. Buy them. Youll thank me later.

Ropes and hardware are nice quality. My only problem is that one of them is still short (supposedly for the tail) which is too short for the airports I fly in to. I wish all three were the same long length. Better too long than too short.

Slidedown 7/16 Rope Blue/White 33709

October 15, 2024

Do not recommend. Seemed to work well until it broke and the company has been completely unresponsive to multiple attempts to make contact by email or phone. While tensioning the tail tie-down, one of the previously-tensioned wing tie-downs failed. At the ground end, the rope is looped through the hook and fastened to itself by a sturdy-looking crimped metal connector. The short end of the rope pulled completely out of this connector and the tie-down is now completely unusable. Considering this defect and the lack of responsiveness, I am not willing to purchase a second complete set to keep the product in use.
