I had this model for some time mounted in between the seats of my RV6. Well, I finally really needed it! I was burning in new brake linings when a fire broke out in my right main gear. The little RT-400 did a great job putting out the fire.

Small and compact. Last on average for 8 years before it falls below the recommended weight of 500 grams. Never had one just discharge on its own.

Last one leak out in a few years. Hope this one was better made.

Less than 50 hours of flight tome and the bottle self emptied, with no visible damage or marking. Weighing before every flight is simply impractical. Would not recommend this unit

I do not recommend this fire extinquisher. It does not have a gauge and must be weighed to determine if its suitability for continued use. Mine lasted less than four years (and maybe less because I failed to weight it at each annual). I am probably going to try the A344T as the replacement - it weights a little more, but it has a gauge.

It is small and lightweight, so fits well in my small experimental aircraft (Sonex). But mine has not lasted the advertised 12 year shelf life. Mine is about 6 years old and weighs less than 200 grams, meaning it has leaked all its contents. Ill probably purchase another, but not happy about the short life of this expensive extinguisher

My RT A400 completely leaked out inside of three years after purchase. I was provided a new one at no charge, but it also leaked out within 3 years. There is a service bulletin issued against these. Recommend buying an all metal extinguisher with a gauge.

At 3 yrs, 9mos, we discovered it was totally empty. Never used. Seems to drain on its own over time. It was OK during our annual 9 months ago.

Both of the ones I have are empty and did not make it close to the advertised 20 year shelf life . No gauge, non-refillable. I will not buy again.

After 4 years in my aircraft this expensive fire extinguisher has bled out empty. So much for a 12 year shelf life!! Contacted H3R for warranty service and they tell me this unit is manufactured in Canada and they will not stand behind it. Multiple leak out complaints and two that exploded in R44 helicopters. The FAA is aware but for whatever reason, Spruce continues to sell these. Dont do it!! Expensive lesson learned.
