Reviews

Works exactly as it should with a Garmin 400w (430w minus the nav/coms). There are a couple EXCELLENT youtube videos showing pilots transferring flight plans from Foreflight to a 430/530. It works perfectly. Complicated plans that would take 10+ minutes to knob in are done in seconds via Foreflight and the 210. Its an expensive box to do just one thing, but Id never operate a GNS unit without it. That was a bit of hyperbole... it does do more than just that one task, but for my specific aircraft, thats all I have it doing.

Great product, but it has longevity issues. I purchased a new one to replace a unit that failed after 5 years.

Q: How is the Flightstream 210 powered, and what does it connect to? I have a GSN 530w. Does it connect via serial directly to it, and also does it come with wiring harness? Thank you,

The Flightstream 210 comes with a connector kit that would be wired to power and ground. It would connect to the GNS 530W via RS232. A wiring harness can be ordered along with the Flightstream. Please indicate this request at time of purchase.

Q: Is the Flight Stream 210 approved for certified aircraft?

Yes it is. Per Garmin, we can only sell the Flight Stream for experimental aircraft though. For a certified aircraft, you would need to go to a certified Garmin Dealer.

Q: I have a gps 400w instaled in my aircraft and certified ,can I install a Flighstream 210 and works with my miniIpad with jeppesen and garminpilot suscriptions.

Yes, however Garmin only allows us to sell the FS 210 (11-13058) to experimental aircraft. For certified you must go to a Garmin dealer to have this professionally installed.

No, the FS 210 is not compatible with the GNS 480.

Q: Is a Garmin GDL-88 or GDL-39 required when using the FlightStream 210 to transfer flight plans between an Android tablet using Garmin Pilot and a Garmin GNS-530W?
