Vernatherm wasnt calibrated correctly. Popped at 230-250F. Requested replacement but instead of sending one out when it arrives I am jumping through warranty hoops for my money back. Told a month before I hear anything. Total BS. In my airplane .01 hours. WTF?

Didnt solve the oil temp problem, but arrived quickly and as described. The old unit had approximately a .250 throw when placed in pan of boiling water.

15hours after major OH the new Superior temp control valve began showing higher than normal oil temps. Ordered the Lycoming 53E22144, installed and issue is solved. Would highly recommend using this PN anytime you have a issue or during OH

Its kind of a two fold review. The part came to me and was not calibrated correctly. It would not open up until 250°F. It should have popped at 185°F or 85°C. During the return of the item aircraft, Spruce said they did not have a part and I would have to do a warranty claim. If they had the part they would have swapped it out but, because they dont have stock, I have to do the warranty paperwork and jump through all the hoops. I said, I would hear something in a month or so. Then, if they or my coming decided to cover the warranty, they would do so at that time. If not, Im out my purchase. So as of now, I have done all of their paperwork and all of their request and Im waiting to hear an answer. Its pretty ridiculous when youre dealing with basically a thermostat. I also included supporting video showing my Garman data where you can see when the oil temperature dropped. Also, I took a video of it on the stove being heated up in oil and you can see where it also opens up. The purchase was also done and installed and used one time. So I guess well see how aircraft Spruce does with the situation but I cant believe Im going through all this hassle on a simple purchase of a vernatherm. Thank God it wasnt something more complicated or expensive
