The price was fair and the delivery was on time. However, seeing that it’s was Plane Power product when I pulled it out of the box has me a little concerned as we have had issues with their new products in the past. Being that this went on my personal airplane and not a customers I decided to install it anyway to see if quality control has improved since 2017. First three hours of operation went just fine. Time will tell.
There was no gasket included. Youd think a new alternator would include one or at least have the courtesy to tell me it needs to be purchased separately. Fortunately I found one on the field but it diminishes the feeling of having a new unit.
I decided to buy two new alternators for my twin during engine change. I thought new has to be better and more reliable than overhauled. One new alternator failed on the first flight. We troubleshot made sure connections and other components were in good order and the alternator failed on the second flight. Not impressed with quality control. Its covered by warranty but not the labor!
