Fab-Tac Fabric Cement Pint

I though I would need about 30 brushes to apply the adhesive to cover my Flying Flea but to my surprise the hardened brush softened up just by dipping it into acetone. I am still using the original brush halfway through the cover. Very impressed with the adhesive and the smell is not too overwhelming either.

Q: Does this Fab-Tac fabric cement work like poly brush? Can I use it to apply on finishing tapes?

This is a glue like Poly Tak, not a sealer like Poly Brush. It can be used like the Poly Tak for finishing tapes. Be aware it is not part of the Poly Fiber STC, so it can not be used if you are following the Poly Fiber STC.

Q: Is the Fab-Tac fabric cement foam safe?

Yes, this is safe to be used on foam except for styrofoam.

Q: Can you use acetone to thin Fab-Tec for application?

Yes, you can use acetone or MEK to thin this product.

Q: What are the solvents in Fab-Tac? Does it contain MEK or toluene?

It does not contain MEK or Toluene.

Q: Is there a maximum acetone mix in thinning Fab-Tac?

Per Vendor: Fabric cement is like paint, you can use as much solvent (Acetone or MEK) to diluted up to your specific Viscosity.

Q: Is it close to the same as Poly Tac as in quality? And does it thin down 50% like poly tac

It is very close to Poly Tac and can be thinned with Acetone, IPA 99 percent or Methyl Ethyl Ketone. It is not part of the Poly Fiber STC so if you are using the Poly Fiber system you would need to use Poly Tac.

Q: I need to install inspection rings on a finished wing. Will this work on a painted wing?

Per the vendor you will need to test a small area to see if Fab tac doesn't damage the paint because the Fab tac base solvent is Acetone (very strong Solvent but fast evaporating).
