The SIRS "Navigator" delivers extremely accurate readings due to its fully integrated, 4 magnet correction facility. A similar design is used on the Concord, and many civil and military aircraft. It has the same features as the "Pegasus", but is mounted with a fully adjustable bracket that allows attachment to a variety of positions including the glare-shield or the windshield. This allows the compass to be located away from magnetic influences. A lightweight and versatile compass designed for use in light aircraft but also used in rugged vehicles for special purpose application. The compass is fully approved to TSO C7d and can be installed in a range of positions due to its unique rotating rear mounting support. Location can be adjusted to obtain the best for view and magnetic location. The "Non-Lighted" version compass card legend is Florescent Yellow and does not have illumination. The "Lighted" version compass card legend is Fluorescent Yellow and does not have illumination. Up to 30° magnetic correction can be achieved for directional errors and alignment accuracy can be optimized by rotating the compass body about its support. Note: The Navigators are dual voltage |
Installation was a windshield mount in a Cessna 182-P. No additional mounts/brackets were needed. The unit came with everything required for the installation in the box, compass and install kit. (instructions, prep swab, and compass adjustment tool). Easy install and only required minor adjustment.
Factory compass failed few years back, replaced with a vertical compass card. It didn’t last a year and instead of throwing good money after bad I decided to purchase this compass, lighted version for my C172M and it performs flawlessly. It has an attractive mount and sits at the original factory location making it easy to see and read and also lights up nicely at night, wired into the lighting circuit and dimmer works very nicely. 2 years in, still extremely satisfied.
Great Product I did not even know existed for certified aircraft until I saw an article in an aviation forum Purchasing this product and sticking it to the windshield of my Cherokee was also a lot less expensive than having my radio shop try to fix my old 50 year old compass in the panel. It comes with a compass correction card ready to fill out, but installed on my windshield where there was no magnetic interference, there was no deviation to record. I most highly recommend this high quality product to anyone looking for a wet compass solution.
Quick and easy Great compass for my Cessna 150
A very lightweight and high quality compass. It was perfect for mounting on centerline, high up in the bubble canopy of my Sonerai 2L. No disturbances noted way up there and only need a quick upward eye glance to see the numbers very clearly. Highly recommend.
As described and of good quality
The right product at the right price. This is the only compass I use on my RV builds.
This product was perfect to replace the old compass in the plane I purchased. The original one was so faded you couldnt read it while flying. This one is bright and easy to read.
4 stars but only because I havent been able to use it yet as our ground is too wet yet, but must say service and shipping was fantastic.
The compass is good. But the adhesive does not hold it to the windshield. Ive tried several double side hi-bond tapes but none will hold it.
