Superior Panel Technology has developed a brighter, wide-angle LED Light strip with your choice of RED, GREEN, or WHITE for aircraft panel illumination. The 39” LED light strip includes 60 wide-angle LEDs. The LED light strips are adaptable for both 14V and 28V aircraft and can be cut to length as needed (every third LED). When on full power, the LEDs produce a nice flood light that is amazingly bright and produce enough light to read charts.
The LEDs are fully dimmable using the SPT Pulse-Width-Modulation (PWM) dimmer that was specifically designed for the low current draw LEDs. The dimmer allows for a gradual dimming without the brightness steps often found in dimmers not designed for low current draw items. The very compact dimmer is only 1” wide and is VERY easy to wire. There is a + (power in), - (ground) and terminal for power out to the lights! You can choose to have an internal circuit breaking off switch in the dimmer or a dimmer without a circuit breaking off switch (normally only used when a master lighting switch is used to cut power to multiple dimmers. Nice product, but for the price youd think the conductors would already be soldered to the LED strip. It is very nice how thin the profile is however.

Works great, provides good light and the dimmer is outstanding. Fairly easy to install if you can solder. The shrink tube with sticky backing did not work but a little liquid electrical tape works just fine. Would order again and have told other pilots about the product. 337 was simple.

Installed in C303 white LED and dimmer switch with on/off option. Under glare shield lights were so bright at max setting that installed quarter round to shield eyes. Easy installation and LEDs provide great full panel and throttle quadrant illumination. Panel had been retrofitted with all Aspen displays and old post lighting removed. Can now read maps on kneeboards and make notes as needed at night. Dimmer works perfectly to provide the light needed at night.

Excellent backup light. Had it installed in a Cessna 182 and a 421C, always with the battery backup option. When it is installed in the airplane, under the glareshield, make sure the lights can not be seen by the pilot, they are very bright and will be blinding.

After reading the directions and visually inspecting the lighting kit while in the package. I decided that the soldering required was too delicate for my eyes and hands. I cannot comment on the function.
Lite strip is Very fragile and thin. We had a piece of the strip rip where we soldered wire to the terminals on the strip. So while mounting the LED strip twisted as we mounted it to the dash and it ripped as it twisted. We are a little concerned about long term strength. We also added some RV silicone to the strip to help hold it as the adhesive on the back seems a little inadequate. But once in they worked perfectly and very smooth when adjusting the intensity.

Extremely delicate. Not worth trying to mess with. Better stuff for same or cheaper price out there that is not so delicate. Mine literally stopped working after installation just putting the panel back in. Ribbon cable probably cracked. Worst than ribbons inside a laptop. Does not belong in an aircraft

The LED light strips are not STC'd and a 337 should be obtained for certified aircraft. This light strip does pass the FAA 23.853 burn test and a copy of the test results are included with each light strip.
No, these are not FAA Approved.
Two dimmer options are available. The dimmer option "with-off switch" does have a built-in circuit breaking internal switch that does break the circuit. The dimmer without the off switch will fully dim the lights, however, the circuit will still be active (similar to all of the MaxDim dimmers). This option can be chosen in situations where there is a master lighting switch that breaks the circuit.
Yes, this light strip should work just fine with the MaxDim dimmer.
Per Manufacturer - Yes, you can run as many strings together on one dimmer as you want (up to 15'). The LED strips have solder tabs on them. Solder them in parallel to do this (for 14V). For 28V system you must contact manufacturer for proper installation.
The manufacturer does not have a lumen spec for these but they are very bright when turned on fully.

This dimmer can handle 14 volts @ 7 amps and 28 volt @ 3.5 amps. Based off the radio amperage requirement it may work or the extreme power dimmer 14 volt @ 14 amp and 28 volt @ 7 amp would be better.
