Overview

For #8 Screws. You know how frustrating it can be to remove a painted over screw only to wind up chipping up the paint job. But you wouldn’t have that problem if you had a set of these innovative paint cutters. They work by slicing through the paint around the head of the screw so you can remove it without chipping the paint. They have a 1/4x28 thread to fit into any angle drill or you can get the optional arbor (p/n 12-02460) for use in a drill chuck. Does not work on dome head rivets. 1 lbs (0.5Kg) shipping weight.

Screw Paint Cutter #8

Dont believe the other reviewers when they say get the #10 for a #8 screw. The #8 fits the head of a 8-32 flathead screw perfectly. I ordered the #10 as was suggested and then had to purchase the #8. Very disappointed a reviewer would mislead like that. d

It REALLY works and would have gotten 5 stars except for one problem. One would think that to cut paint from an 8-32 screw one would order a #8 cutter. WRONG! You need a #10 which worked GREAT. There is nothing on the Spruce website to indicate this. There should be! And there are NO instructions with the tool. But it REALLY works. I used it when removing the tanks on my Piper. Carl

Does not work very well. When centered on a Phillips screw, cannot cut the paint without damaging the aluminum beside the head of the screw. Tried several times on different screws and could not come up with a way to remove paint without damaging the aircraft.
