Overview

The filter element is made from medical grade, type 304 stainless steel micronic filter cloth providing unmatched protection against oil contamination and resultant engine damage.

A rare earth magnet is installed in the top of the element for magnetic pre-filtering of the oil. The unique twist lock design allows for easy disassembly, inspection and cleaning. The quad-ring gasket doubles the seal between the filter and the engine . The filter housing is carved out of a solid piece of 6061 T6 billet aluminum with cooling fins, which not only looks good but aids in dissipating heat.

Reviews

We have (4) Cessna 172S aircraft and they all run the Challenger Oil Filter system for many years. The element has a defined replacement life of 1250 hours. When you change the oil every 50 hours, this is 25 oil changes. Pop a new one of these in and keep going. I also like to change this element after an engine overhaul. We have been getting between 2500 and 3000 hours between overhauls, so any idea that this elements filtration capabilities are inadequate do not bear out. No need to stock filters or last minute running around to get one. And then there are the economic and environmental savings as well. No oil canister cutting open, this unit lets you find chips so easily.
