Overview

Vetterman Exhaust has been manufacturing exhaust systems for the Van’s Aircraft RV series since 1990. Exhaust systems for all RV models & Van’s approved engine models are available. All systems are manufactured from MIL Spec 321 stainless steel, which is mandrel bent, trimmed to length and tack welded on a Lycoming engine. This method assures the best fit possible. All systems incororate ample slip & ball joints which greatly reduces breaking potential. All systems include blow proof gaskets, stainless exhaust nuts & washers for installation. Also include tail pipe mounting kits or pipe support brackets. Some systems also include a cabin heat muff.

A perfect fit for my RV-8A! Designed specifically for the tight fit through the engine mount and nose gear mount of the RV-8A. First class workmanship and fit. The exhaust pipe hangers attach to the sump and provide solid support. Replaced an older exhaust system that rattled and leaked. RV-8A owners: Dont put up with a poor fitting exhaust that was designed for an RV-8 with no nose gear mount! This is the one for you!

I have never installed Vetterman on a RV Series, however I have installed their exhaust on a couple Experimental Piper Pacers with Lycoming 320 and 290 Engines. The exhaust gives slightly more power, easy to inspect and built way better then stock. Highly recommend them.

Q: What is the difference between the 08-00591, 08-00592 and 08-00594 Vetterman RV exhaust system for an RV-8?

These are model specific for the engine. 08-00591 is for 0-320 to 0-360 engines. 08-00592 is for O-320-H2AD. 08-00594 is for the IO-360. These are three different engines that have been used by builders in the RV-8. Please choose according to your engine application.

Q: The Vetterman Exhaust listing says some systems may include the cabin heat muff. Which systems include the cabin heat muff?

Per the manufacturer, all of the crossover style systems come with the heat muff. None of the 4 pipe systems listed for the RV-3 or RV-4 come with a heat muff.

Q: Does the 08-00591 for the RV-7A come with a heat muff?

Yes, part # 08-00591 includes a cabin heat muff.

Q: What is dynofocal mount vs conical mount? Trying to chose four pipe system for rv4 / o-320

A dynafocal mount has the larger round sandwich or what some call a donut rubber mount, and an conical mount are much smaller cone looking rubber mounts. Select the system that will work with your engine mount.

Q: Does the 08-00592 exhaust have 2 in 1 crossover?

It is a 2-into-1; ie there are 2 pipes coming out of the cowling.
