Overview

These 2-1/4" tachometers were designed to offer aviation styling and performance for all types of aircraft. These tachs have high resolution and easy to read displays. The analog model has a 270° sweep which provides great resolution in both the 3500 and 7000 ranges. The digital model has a bright LED display. Separate power source required. Installation is simple. If using mag pickup 1A9-1 or 1A9-2, remove vent screw-cap from magneto and screw in one of this mag sensors. Connect power to the tach and plug in DB-9 connector into the tach. If using 1A3-4 sender that goes into mechanical port, just install it there, connect 4 pin connector to the sender and DB-9 connector to the tach and connect power leads to the aircraft fuse box. Instructions included.

Q: Would this Tach be approved for a certified PA-18 SuperCub?

No, these instruments, part numbers 10-00083, 10-02140, and 10-02141, are not TSO'd for certified aircraft.

Q: Would this Tach work with spark plug wire wrap type impulse sensors on a Rotax 912 ULS? (The Rotax' Tach Lighting Coil has malfunctioned)

No, this tach will not work on a Rotax 912. The range of this tach does not even reach the speed of the Rotax engine. I think what you're asking about is the tiny tach, part number 10-04182.

Q: Would this Tach be approved for a certified for Cessna 150?

No. This Tach is Non TSO'd and can not be used in a certified aircraft.

Q: Will this tach run at 24 - 28 Volt system? We are using it in a test stand.

Per the installation manual the supply voltage is +10 to +28 Volts DC, Hourmeter output +12V @ 20ma max.

Q: Can 2 of these tachometers be used with one pickup? My installation would have a tach mounted in the front and rear cockpit of a biplane and I would like to confirm that they can share the same signal.

Yes, this will work with one pickup. You will need a dual harness sending unit. It will be special order based on length.

Q: Is the magnetic pickup that is included in PN: 10-02140 suitable for Bendix? Magnetic pickup T1A9-2 not T1A9-1.

No, this comes with the Slick sender.
