Sky-Tec 24V Starter 149Nl/Ec
The starter is working well, and spins the engine faster than the old Lamar starter did. I worry a bit because it comes with two shear pins in case of kickbacks. I can imagine trying to get at and replace a shear pin at some remote place.

Candidly, I was somewhat skeptical of the added benefit/advantage this high-torque starter versus a standard (OEM if you will) starter for half the cost. However, I AM BLOWN AWAY! Starting rpms are double what they used to be, and hot starts, cold starts, warm starts, no prime starts...doesnt matter, it fires up my Lycoming O-540 within a single second. It has surpassed all my expectations and has provided a new feeling of comfort and confidence with restarting after landing at airports after-hours. With the old starter, the hot restart was always a big concern in my mind, especially at smaller airports or after-hours with no GPU available. Well that concern is gone thanks to this new starter. It spins the prop as if plugged into a GPU. HAPPY CUSTOMER! THANK YOU!
