This is a great product to use when on the ground training is needed. The power supply is a sturdy unit and reasonably priced.

I was amazed at how quickly I received my order, it was the next day. Aircraft Spruce is the “Amazon” of aircraft parts and equipment. Since I moved into a T-Hangar I needed a power supply to do my avionics data base updates. This product works perfectly and give me a nice steady 28 volts to run the avionics in the hangar. So far i am very pleased.

Fantastic little GPU, works great for powering up G1000 avionics for cockpit procedures training. Would be nice if it had a folding handle on the top to easily carry it, otherwise works great on my Cirrus SR22

We purchased for our flying club for use on two Cessna 172s and two Cessna 182s. This provides steady power and allows us to review Avionics without running the engine. We have found that the order of connection and switches is different for each plane, which is more of an issue of how our planes are wired. The unit works well with all of them.

We primarily bought this unit for operation of a full panel of new avionics, and it works great. The term Cessna Style 3 Pin Plug was confusing, but it perfectly fits the external power port on our Beech B-95 Travel Air also. It came with a second adapter for battery charging, with large clothes-pin type clips. It will charge, then maintain a float on the battery if desired. Instructions provided are clear and simple for both functions. We are using it for avionics training and database updating, with no worries about running the battery down.

So far, used for about 4 hours in 3 sessions total powering avionics on ground in a C337G. Will not sustain power to hi-draw items, of course, but does not claim to. With avionics on, was able to run all non-LED exterior lighting for 30 seconds before battery indicated it was discharging. Appears to put out a steady 27.9-28 volts. Recommend for battery charging and short term (1-2 hrs) avionics usage on ground. Download and read manuals before ordering. Will need to order battery ring terminals separately.

Works very well for providing equipment so you can learn equipment. It only outputs enough power to power up the systems. There is not enough power to run high draw equipment.

Charged my 24VDC drained battery in half a day. The battery clips were included (a plus!)
I have also used it as an APU to run avionics on the ground, and that worked very well...the Cessna 3 prong connector was also included (another plus)
Well worth the money.

I just got this, so havent had time to use it, but I would like to review the customer service I received. The first APU I received was apparently pulled from stock wrong, so not what I had ordered. I talked to Claudia Rodriguez on the phone, and then by email, and she quickly cleared things up and sent the right unit to me. She was courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient. Please give her a raise. Thanks.

Product works perfectly with my 2007 Diamond DA 40 XLT - allowing me to use my Garmin G1000 system (both PDF & MDF) without turning on any switches (runs without Master or Avionics switches on). In my case - it is required to have the unit switched on GEL battery mode.
Aircraft Spruce packaged and shipper the product on time which arrived in new condition without damage.

Purchased this for my 1972 E55 Baron to power my avionics on the ground so I could learn how to use the GPS etc.
Couldnt have been easier to use just plug it in to the external power port on the plane and switch it on. Make sure you read your POH concerning external power.
My master switch is left off and I just turned on my avionics master.
Spent about 3 hours messing with the GPS units and setting them up perfectly. Well worth the money of this unit.

Just got this 2 weeks ago and it worked as advertised in my Cessna Caravan G1000. My G1000 draws 16 amps when both PFD and MFD are turned on so the 20 amp capacity is adequate. A lot easier than hauling out the very heavy GPU on wheels to the plane.

Great price to power up avionics in the hangar. If turned off and then back on it will not power the A/C. Leaving it sit for 19 minutes or so either cools it off or allows residual electrical discharge and then it works fine again. I can live with this.

This worked perfectly for a few years, then appeared to be dead.
The fuse was blown, I replaced that and plugged it in, big flash and smoke,
The same happened in some other review
The rating is a 5 when it worked and a 1 when it blew up

Appears to be well-made, and seems to work well as a battery maintainer. However, as a hangar power source, it does not hold 24 volts to the bus on my Cirrus. Using the 3-pin power plug, which directly powers the bus, the battery shows a discharge of 8-9 amps, and I get a low-voltage light in the cockpit, and the voltage at the bus shows less than 24 V.

I bought this to charge my battery. It did not charge the battery so I wanted to return it for a refund. Aircraft Spruce was reluctant to give me a refund stating that if it was defective I would have to go through the manufacturer of the product. They even had me speak to the manufacturer to describe the issue I had with the unit. I was dumbfounded as to why I just could not return it for a refund. Then I was told my refund would be processed after they sent it back to the manufacturer. Again, I was dumbfounded as to why I would have to wait. I opted to exchange the unit for another one. Their return policy is somewhat confusing. On the one hand it states, If you are not satisified with your purchase for any reason, you may return it within 30 days from date of purchase. But I guess somewhere in the additional verbiage, that did not apply in my case.

Left my master on my 28 volt CE182RG and ran the battery down. Battery voltage was at 18 volts prior to connecting charger. The charger instructions says it will not start with less than 8 volts on a 24 volt battery. I assumed incorrectly that it would start a change on a low battery with a small current, it cooked my battery boiling out all the acid and making the battery smoking hot. Purchasing a new battery today. I will be reluctant to use this device on a low battery in the future.

I purchased this so I could update my avionics databases in the hanger. I used the unit about 6 times over the course of 16 months. I tried to use it the other day and it would not power on. I opened it up and replaced the blown fuse. Plugged it in...snap...smoke...burnt smell.
The instructions say that it is a battery charger only and cannot be used with a load (like shore side power) however the listing here clearly states it is for powering on the electronics with the plane not running. I think the unit is being misrepresented as a shore side power unit when it is just a battery charger.

This is not a Ground power unit. It is a battery charger. The manufacturer specifically says it’s not a DC power supply.
