Overview

The purpose of this manual is to help in the explanation, visualization and execution of the flight maneuvers required for the Private Pilot Practical Flight Test. Students preparing for their oral and flight test will find this manual helpful. Any pilot preparing for a Biennial Flight Review (BFR), can use this manual as a refresher on maneuvers that you may not have executed in quite some time. Flight Instructor applicants and Certified Flight Instructors will find this manual a beneficial teaching aid.

The manual breaks down each maneuver required on the Private Practical Test in six parts:

  1. FAA objective for the maneuver.
  2. FAA completion standards.
  3. General description of the maneuver.
  4. Detailed step by step textual description on how to execute the maneuver as recommended by the FAA.
  5. References to FAA publications where the information was compiled from.
  6. Detailed graphic profiles summarizing the procedure in a visual format. Also included are airspeeds, pitch attitudes, bank angles, power settings and configurations for a Cessna 172P plus room to add the same information for up to three additional aircraft.

Benefits of this manual:

  1. Certified Flight Instructors can use this teaching aid as an excellent resource for preflight briefings.
  2. Only detailed maneuvers manual with a spiral binding. Easy to lay book open flat in the classroom or in the cockpit.
  3. Several flight schools use this manual as a standardization tool for all their instructors and students.

Reviews

This manual provides a very good explanation of the maneuver and the progressive steps to complete each task. Not to wordy and easy to follow for the student. Allows all instructors to teach the same method so no confusion exists if a student transfers to another instructor (at the same school).
