What can be said about the humble rivit. With out talent they are just a trinket of metal. But with a skilled installer and a good design about a million of these will get you flying

Q: Are the MS20470AD superceded by the AN470?

Actually, the AN number has been superceded by the MS number, but we use the AN because it has been the norm for so long. They both meet the same specifications.

Q: I am unable to find A470-5-8 rivets. I typed this no. into the search box, but O results were listed.

The correct number is AN470A-5-8. You are missing the N and A in your query.

Q: What is the difference between soft and hard?

A rivets are soft. They are fabricated from 1100-grade aluminum and have a tensile strength of 16,000 PSI. AD rivets are fabricated from 2117 aluminum and heat treated to the T4 condition. They have a shear strength of 26,000 PSI and a tensile strength of 38,000 PSI.

Q: Are the rivets anodized?

No. These are not anodized.

Q: Hi, what is the difference between a MS20470AD4-4A AND MS20470AD4-4S? What is the A vs S?

"A" would indicate that the rivet has and anodize coating. "S" indicates that it has a chemical surface treatment per MIL-C-5541.

Q: Is it possible to purchase smaller quantities of the item AN470AD-4-14? I dont need a pound I just need 20 pcs.

Yes, minimum purchase quantity is 0.13 lbs.
