Overview

This kit incorporates a lightning protection module (LPM) into the backshell of the D-sub. The LPM provides additional protection devices for the CAN signals and aircraft power 1 input. Kit also included a standard G5 installation kit. Kit includes the mounting bracket / ring.

Q: In late 2019, we installed a pair of G5 in our certified Cherokee (PA28-180). Can we install this Lightning Protection Module on our existing G5s? Do we need a separate Lightning Protection Module for each G5, or is one sufficient?

Yes, the LPM can be added to existing G5s. One module will be needed per G5.
