Bluetooth® Audio Panel for Your Certified Avionics
  • Bluetooth connectivity enables easy access to phone calls and audio entertainment
  • Draws on top-end Garmin audio technology for “home theater” quality sound with dedicated music volume knobs for pilot and copilot
  • 3D Audio processing helps pilots “locate” inputs coming into their headsets

  • Offers slide-in replacement upgrade for GMA 340 and select third-party audio panels which were designed for GMA 340 replacements as well.
Bringing rich “home theater” quality sound and wireless Bluetooth¹ audio connectivity to your avionics stack, the GMA 345 digital audio panel offers a superior inflight audio experience at an affordable price. Featuring 3-D spatial sound processing, a USB charging port, marker beacon receiver, advanced Auto Squelch, clearance playback and impressive audio mixing and distribution features, this all-digital unit offers the ideal blend of capabilities for pilots who want to hear and do more with less effort in the cockpit. Plus, it’s an easy slide-in upgrade from select third-party audio panels or legacy GMA 340 units.

Connect Wirelessly with Bluetooth
Built-in Bluetooth connectivity makes it easy for you to wirelessly pair your smartphone or other compatible device with the audio system. So, you can make and receive calls in the cockpit, as well as stream audio entertainment through as many as 6 headset positions in the aircraft. The powered 2.1 amp USB port on the unit’s faceplate helps keep your phones and mobile devices charged. Moreover, GMA 345 features 2 dedicated rear audio connections, allowing hardwired sources — such as SiriusXM® satellite radio or other high-fidelity music inputs — to be played and distributed through the audio system. Music effects also add to the rich audio experience provided by GMA 345. You can select enhanced bass boost levels as well as equalizer effects that include rock, classical and pop audio profiles.
Listen in Virtual 3-D
For your radio communications, advanced 3-D digital sound processing, first introduced to general aviation by Garmin, enables GMA 345 to approximate how the human ear normally hears and registers multiple audio sources in space. With stereo headsets, incoming audio is spatially separated to reflect how different audio sources are coming from different directions around you. This makes it easier to distinguish one source from another — and helps you focus on the higher-priority calls coming into your headset. For example, COMM 1 will seem like it’s coming from the left while COMM 2 will seem to be coming from the right.
Get Instant Replay on ATC Calls and Clearances
An automatic digital voice recorder on the audio panel continuously captures the last 60 seconds of incoming active comm audio for instant playback on request with a single button press. Any pilot who’s ever missed an ATC call, frequency assignment or clearance amendment will appreciate the value of this handy “say again” function.
Experience Advanced Audio Processing
At full capacity, GMA 345 will support dual comm, dual nav and multiple aux receivers — totaling up to 7 radios. There’s a 6-place automatic VOX intercom with 3 modes of isolation. And a split-comm mode lets the pilot and copilot broadcast on independent frequencies. For example, the pilot can use COMM 1 while the copilot uses COMM 2.

To further enhance the cockpit audio experience, advanced Auto Squelch technology on GMA 345 automatically adapts to a quiet or noisy environment without clipping words or cutting out during conversation. A high-performance digital signal processor constantly monitors ambient noise level and automatically adjusts the mic squelch level required to keep intercom conversation as comfortable and natural as possible — whether you’re talking over engine noise in flight or quietly going through your preflight checklist on the ground. The unit’s Auto Squelch technology automatically adjusts for these variances, allowing you to speak at normal levels, no matter what the ambient sound conditions may be.
Capture Cockpit Audio on Your Video
GMA 345 can pair via Bluetooth with the VIRB Ultra 30 series of HD action cameras — allowing you to overlay intercom audio and ATC communications on the HD inflight video you’re shooting. Since there’s no headset audio cable required, your VIRB action camera is free to move about the cabin so you can shoot from the best possible angle.
Easy Installation/Upgrade
Upgrading the audio experience in your cockpit is easy with GMA 345. It’s fully rack-and-pin compatible in dual-Comm installations with the Garmin GMA 340 as well as select third-party audio panels. So, it doesn’t take long for your installer to pull out the old and slide in the new. The audio panel’s built-in intercom and marker beacon help further reduce installation time for the system. And since it can operate on either 14 or 28 volts, there’s no need for any external voltage regulators or the wiring that goes with them. Fast, easy, affordable — that’s the GMA 345 audio upgrade path.

Reviews

A true slide-in replacement as advertised. Absolutely no need for any rewiring as replacement for my old GMA-340. Bluetooth works flawlessly. Great upgrade, wish I would have bought it sooner.

Garmin GMA 345 Audio Panel 6 Place With Bt TSO

This unit is really everything it claims to be. As a bit of an audiophile I expected some degradation in the Bluetooth audio through the panel that would make me want to keep using Bluetooth direct to my Bose headset. This is not the case at all. This replaced a KMA20 and SPA-400 in my plane. There was lots of alternator hum and various other noise sources, now it is crystal clear. There are tons of hidden features and controls that you really need to read the pilots guide to find. Also, make sure that you or your installer follow the supplied schematic. Proper shielding and wiring all of the headsets for stereo is crucial to ensure you are getting all of the benefits of this audio panel.

This unit is everything it advertises. The Bluetooth connection is flawless. I love the fact that I can now call ATC on my cell phone to copy clearances while my co-pilot friend can also listen in as if we were on the radio frequency. Music and everything else is streamed without any issues. The multiple hardwired input is also very nice, Ive wired the portable Aera 660 into the audio panel and now I can receive aural warnings in my headsets. What is not to love about this unit?

Not too difficult to install - on par with any other panel. 3D audio sounds fantastic! The Bluetooth feature could use an upgrade - I run with a Virb Action Camera and beam cockpit audio to the camera, but the GMA 345 only supports one Bluetooth connection at a time, so I have to disconnect from the camera if I want to call up the Tracon via telephone from a non-towered field for a clearance. That is my only complaint about this unit. Otherwise - easy to use and sounds fantastic.

Q: Does the Garmin GMA 345 have the option for the button labels printed so the unit can be fitted vertically instead of horizontally?

During the initial release of the Garmin GMA 345 audio panel, only the horizontal version will be available.

Q: What comes in the Garmin GMA 345 installation kit?

The installation kit comes with the connectors, pins and housings for the wiring harness as well as the required hardware for mounting.

Q: Is the GARMIN GMA 345 AUDIO PANEL WITH BLUETOOTH&#-1248;CONNECTIVITY FAA TSOd? Can it be supplied with a 8130 form?

Yes, this is a certified unit. We only offer 8130-3 export forms to international customers on these units since the FAA Approval is all that is required for USA installation. You will need to have this installed by an A&P. Should you need the 8130 for a USA installation for a special case, you can request it at the time of checkout in the special instructions box.

Q: on the GARMIN GMA 345 AUDIO PANEL WITH BLUETOOTH CONNECTIVITY: Can it connect to a Garmin Virb 360 for audio to be recorded AND also at the same time be connected to a Sirius SXAR-1 receiver for music over the intercom?

Per Garmin this is possible if the Virb is connected via Bluetooth and the SXAR-1 hardwired to the audio panel.

Q: Is there an STC/AML/ICA for the GMA 345?

This is a TSO'd audio panel and no STC is required.

Q: I have a Garmin GMA 340 in my experimental RV-8. I would like to have Bluetooth capability, it looks like I could purchase the GMA 345 or the GMA 245 but the only difference I see is the 345 is for certified aircraft and the 245 is for experimental. Is this correct and if so would either one be a direct slide in replacement without having to change the rack?

For a direct slide in replacement, we recommend the GMA 345.

Q: If you have a Garmin GTN 750 and a GMA 345, can you make selections in the on-screen Audio Panel of the GTN 750, and if so, will those selections indicate as having been changed on the GMA 345? In essence, will both units talk to one another and allow selections from either unit?

Although they will function together, you cannot use the GTN 750 to control the GMA 345.

Q: Is the intercom on the gma 345 always on or do you need a push to talk switch to communicate with the co-pilot and passengers?

In normal settings you do not have to push to intercom as it is always on. You will have the press the ptt switch to activate the radio

Q: Is the GMA 345 a direct slide in replacment for a GMA 347?

Per the manufacturer, it is not a direct replacement for the GMA 347.

Q: It says its a slide in replacement for other legacy audio panels. Do you know if this would be the case for a king audio panel?

Per Manufacturer - the GMA 345 is only designed as a direct slide-in replacement for the GMA 340. Any other manufacturer's unit which was designed to be compatible with a GMA 340 install could also be replaced by the GMA 345, however, a compatibility list is not available.
